Company profilePurpose of the role:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) / Vice President (VP) – Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives in the corporate catering and hospitality segment, with a focus on the Bengaluru market. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in enterprise sales, client relationship management, and commercial negotiations, specifically in the corporate food services, hospitality, or tech-enabled catering platforms.
In this high-impact leadership role, you will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities with large corporates, managing end-to-end sales cycles, and building long-term partnerships with key stakeholders, including Facilities and Admin Heads. You will collaborate closely with culinary experts and cross-functional teams to design customized food solutions that align with each client’s unique needs and workplace culture.
Beyond front-line sales responsibilities, the AVP / VP will take ownership of building and scaling the business development team, setting performance benchmarks, and establishing processes for lead generation, pipeline management, and account retention. You will be a strategic partner to senior leadership, contributing to pricing strategy, client segmentation, brand positioning, and go-to-market planning.
Additionally, the role includes financial accountability—tracking business metrics, analyzing revenue performance, identifying gaps or risks, and driving initiatives to achieve profitability and operational excellence. You will play a central role in shaping the company’s market presence, enhancing client satisfaction, and contributing to long-term business sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Identify and engage potential corporate clients with large-scale catering requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, especially Facilities and Admin Heads.
Understand client needs and tailor food and service solutions in collaboration with the culinary and operations teams.
Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations to win business.
Strategic Planning & Revenue Growth
Develop and execute regional business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify new business opportunities.
Drive revenue targets through effective lead generation, pipeline management, and client conversion.
Commercial & Contract Management
Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring client requirements are met while maintaining profit margins.
Draft, review, and finalize contracts and SLAs with corporate clients.
Collaborate with finance teams to develop pricing models and commercial terms.
Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with culinary, logistics, operations, and customer service teams to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations.
Oversee planning and execution of key client events and catering activations.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing business development team.
Set clear KPIs, track performance, and ensure continuous improvement through coaching and training.
Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and results.
Financial Oversight
Monitor P&L for the business development function and oversee key financial metrics.
Analyze performance variances, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely financial reporting to the executive team.
Key Requirements:
Education: MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Experience: 10 to 15 years of business development experience, preferably in corporate catering, hospitality, or food-tech platforms.
Market Knowledge: Strong network and understanding of the industry ecosystem.
Skills:
